We recently got a treat from the Ladue Strings group from Ladue Horton Watkins High School who played during lunch at Friendship Village Chesterfield! The group spent about an hour performing at lunch for residents and staff, making it a classy, lovely affair. Thanks again to all the young artists who made our day a little more beautiful!

Mary Mungenast (Friendship Village Chesterfield) and Bob Swearingen (Friendship Village Sunset Hills) were invited by the Missouri State Senate to participate in a Legislative Committee Hearing Wednesday, March 4th in the State Capitol regarding the modernization of an old law pertaining to finances for Life Care Type “A” communities in the State. Mary and Bob are Friendship Village’s Resident Leaders and have done an amazing job representing Friendship Village and senior living communities in Missouri! The brand-new Rockhurst Building at Friendship Village Chesterfield had its first new resident Phyllis move into her new apartment Tuesday and we couldn’t be more thrilled! The Rockhurst Building has 52 new Independent Living apartments and we have residents moving in now and through April! And as our expansion construction continues in Chesterfield and at our Sunset Hills community, we look forward to many more move-ins to expand our community and make new friends! We were thrilled to be present as our own Friendship Village Sunset Hills’ resident Tony Snyder, 95, was awarded the French Legion of Honor medal Tuesday by Guillaume Lacroix, the French Consul General! The honor carries with it the distinction of Knighthood and is given on behalf of the President of France. Tony was being recognized for his service during World War II as a U.S. Army Sergeant in the 14th Armored Division (“The Liberators”) who helped liberate France to win WWII. Friendship Village Sunset Hills residents got a chance to make their mark on history when two six-foot steel beams were displayed to be signed at the Village Care Center! Our Ballroom at Friendship Village Sunset Hills was PACKED with nearly a hundred folks to learn the benefits of our Life Care program (including the tax benefits) and were treated to a complimentary brunch. Our President and CEO Terry Walsh as well as Senior Living Sales Director Matt Beckham informed everyone about Life Care and other aspects of senior living at Friendship Village.
