Friendship Village Senior Services’ Update and Response to COVID-19 as of Friday, February 5th, 2021 Our residents in independent living and assisted living are halfway between their first vaccination and their second one! There is high anticipation and excitement to get it done! Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care residents and employees are now about 10 days beyond their second dose, and all seems to be going well. Question: What are your favorite hobbies? Answer: Oh, I like to read a lot. In fact, last year, I read seventy-five books. This year, I’m kind of behind because, since moving here, I started playing a lot of games, so that takes up my time. Question: You mentioned the 4-H Club was important to you. How so? Answer: Growing up, I belonged to a 4-H club. I was shy and wasn’t really sure what I was going to do in 4-H, but someone encouraged me and so I raised chickens, of all things. Both of Friendship Village’s locations are thrilled to announce renewed 5-STAR RATING designations for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation at both locations! The rating comes from CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services). CMS provides this rating as a consumer service which offers useful information to the public about the quality of care in thousands of nursing homes! Only 11 nursing homes out of 115 in our area received 5-Star Ratings and Friendship Village has 2 of those 11! CMS strives to limit 5-Star ratings to not more than ten percent […]
