“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the LORD Almighty. - Zechariah 4:6
For more than 70 years, the city of Jerusalem had laid in ruins, conquered by a former enemy. Finally, people had returned and had begun work to rebuild the city. The task was daunting. Though they started with great gusto, they soon ran out of steam. They didn’t think they enough strength, time, or resource to get the job done. But God have them reassurance through the prophet Zechariah, and those words still ring true for us today. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and at the end of your rope, you can still find hope in the Lord. More than facing life in just our strength and ability, He promises to bring us through “by My Spirit.” For those who trust in the Lord, all the power of Heaven is made available to bring us through. Let’s put our hope in Him. He’s not done working yet!
