“Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people: ‘I am with you,’ declares the LORD.” - Haggai 1:13
The days of Haggai were a troubled time. The capital city was trying to rebuild after being destroyed by invaders 70 years before and the Temple of the Lord lay in ruins. The people were weary and the task before them seemed absolutely overwhelming. In fact, they were on the verge of giving up. Into the midst of their weariness, God spoke through the prophet. The message was short, simple, and just what they needed to hear: “I am with you.” In the midst of difficult days, it helps to know that we are not alone. We have a Heavenly Father who remains “with” us in every circumstance and He offers us strength, stamina, and hope. Today is a day to hold on to our trust in Him…He is with us!
