Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. - Matthew 6:10
Jesus instructs us as we pray to call for the Father’s kingdom to come. The “kingdom of God” is not about what it’s like to go to Heaven someday. Rather, the kingdom of God describes His rule and reign in our midst right here today. Jesus personified this kingdom as He walked the earth. Where God rules, every false kingdom must fall by the wayside – kingdoms of selfishness, fear, hatred, sickness, and distrust. The rule of God is about love, peace, joy, endurance, justice, mercy, faith, and so much more! Jesus wants us to seek the establishment of this kind of kingdom all around us in the here and now. Of course, that means that we are choosing to live our lives with Christ as our King. Let’s surrender to Him afresh today and trust His kingdom to saturate our lives. There is an antidote for the false kingdoms of this world. It’s Him!
