I once went to the hospital the day after Thanksgiving to visit a lady who was dehydrated. I expected to see her sitting up with a simple IV bag of fluids. I was shocked to find her on life-support. I turned to the nurse in disbelief. She confirmed that this lady was suffering on life-support because of severe dehydration.
This lady thankfully lived and later told me what happened. Her weeks prior had been so busy getting ready for the holidays that she did not have time for basic necessities like eating, drinking, and sleeping. It nearly cost her life.
Today’s Scripture happened when Jesus was also tired. He sat down to rest and asked for water. In tiresome times, let’s make sure to do the same. The refreshing life-giving water of the Holy Spirit is available to us all as we take time to be with Him!
