When Jesus came from Heaven to dwell among us, He was coming to a world in dire need. Prejudice, oppression, and injustice were rampant. There was a palpable sense of fear throughout society. Poverty was the way of life and the struggle to simply feed one’s family was real. The world was a dark place. Yet, His coming was like an invasion of light! Jesus personified the love and goodness of God and everywhere He went, people encountered new life and new opportunity. No dark room has the ability to extinguish light. There is never a switch on any wall that is able to turn “on” the dark. Light always triumphs! That means that no matter how dark our specific circumstances may seem, nothing can stop the love and light of Jesus from bringing hope, peace, and joy if we turn to Him to receive it. God’s light surrounds you today! He will overcome the darkness. ?
