“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” - Colossians 3:15
Peace doesn’t just happen. We have to choose it. Each of us is empowered by God to decide what it is that will rule our hearts and minds. Will it be frustration and fear? Or will it be hope and peace? The ability to choose peace is directly related to how we center our lives. It we look for circumstances to finally go our way and the stars to somehow align, peace will remain fleeting. But if we practice a thankful heart, looking for reasons to express appreciation and gratitude while we focus on our next step and trust in the goodness of God, our hearts will be filled with an overwhelming peace that not only sustains us, but also impacts those around us. There is so much to be thankful for! May that thought fill us with peace today!
