“…this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us…” - 2 Corinthians 1:9-10
Throughout his writings, the Apostle Paul is honest about the struggles of following God as well as the joys. In the verses preceding today’s reference, he admits to being under great pressure, to the point that he didn’t think he could endure. He even despaired of life itself. But looking back, he sees how God has sustained him. It gives him hope that the Lord will continue to bring miraculous answers in the days to come. What was true for Paul is also true for us. Every person faces times of incredible difficulty. Let’s not lose faith in the Lord above. He is present in every hardship and will provide the strength we need to overcome. What He has done before, He will do again! Thanks be to God!
