“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” - Acts 4:31
The disciples were causing a stir. They were boldly proclaiming the Good News about Jesus, but the authorities were trying to shut them down. Instead of cowering in fear, they prayed for divine boldness and strength, and God answered! Many times, the circumstances of life work to shut us down as well. Discouragement, frustration, weariness, and more all work to lessen our resolve and to foster despair. However, the same God who heard the prayer of the disciples so long ago, hears us as we turn to Him as well. The Lord wants to fill us afresh with His Spirit so that we can face the obstacles of this life and overcome with a sense of joy and peace. Call out to Him today! He wants to make His power known in us!
