"I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.” - 2 John 1:12
The 2nd letter from the Apostle John is one of the shortest books in the Bible. He ends it abruptly because he would rather find a way to communicate “face to face.” His words serve to remind us of the difference we find when we intentionally take time to meet with people and share our hearts with them. Our physical presence can bring comfort, our smile can bring peace, our words can reassure love, and our eyes can communicate kindness and hope. Who might benefit from your visit today? The wonderful news is that the effect is reciprocal; our hearts are strengthened as well when we spend time in the company of those who care. The Lord reveals His love anew when we take time for one another.
