Reflection

Do you have a “safe place?” That could be a physical location, but it also might be a memory that you hold dear. It might even be a person – someone who brings you calm and peace every time you are with them. There was a time in the life of David in the Old Testament when he was on the run for his life. The king was looking to kill him and David hid himself in various homes, in the wilderness, and even in deep dark caves to find safety. Yet, he declares that ultimately the LORD is his hiding place. Only in the presence of God can we truly find rest and peace. Regardless of what is happening around us, let’s open our hearts to the presence of the Lord through faith and trust in His Word. Let’s offer Him our prayers and believe in His goodness. He will keep us in perfect peace.
