“He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea…” - Zechariah 9:10b
Just over 500 years before Christ was born, the prophet Zechariah proclaimed that the Messiah would triumphantly, yet humbly, ride into Jerusalem on a donkey amidst great rejoicing and celebration among the people. The prophet gives assurance for what would happen through this Messiah: peace for all people and the establishment of God’s Kingdom. Just as proclaimed, this was all fulfilled in Jesus. He came into Jerusalem, as prophesied, and for all who trust in Him there is the unfolding of inner peace. As we submit ourselves to His rule and reign, we can know the power of His promise!
