“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.” - Song of Songs 8:7a
There is no other book in the Bible like the Song of Songs. It is a love poem that depicts the deeply passionate and intimate love relationship between a bride and groom. When we read it, we discover that love is meant to come from the very core of who we are. We share it with others as evidence of our complete devotion and commitment. There is also a sense in which the Song of Songs is meant to reveal the incredible love that God has for us. He is deeply passionate about each one of us and committed to doing all He can to make that love known. It’s why Jesus came to this world – that we might experience the love of God in a tangible way, realize how much we need Him, and choose to love Him in return. Even on your worst day, remember this: You are passionately and eternally loved! Nothing can sweep that away.
