The writer was experiencing a time of persecution. It felt like the world had turned against him, but the presence of the Lord became his lifeline. As he reached out, he realized that the Lord was already at work, providing for him and helping him through. Through the ministry of care, he was brought right into the security of the presence of God. When we offer gracious care to others, we bring them the assurance that God is yet with them in the time of trouble. The Lord is not only reaching out to us, but through us!
