“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” - Psalm 23:4
When we are children, we are often afraid of the dark. We either want someone we trust to stay by our side or for someone to at least leave a light on. As we get older, we discover that life often brings us seasons that also feel dark and cold. The enemy of our souls works overtime in those moments to plant the idea that we are alone, isolated, and on our own. Yet, the truth is that God never leaves us or forsakes us. He stays right next to us, guiding us through every valley, and helps us find courage in His presence. His Word provides direction, order, and comfort even as it helps us learn how to live in the face of fear. Regardless of what we face, we don’t have to be overwhelmed by the hardships of life – not even death itself! The Lord is with us!
