“The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not be in want.” - Psalm 23:1
The only hope of sheep in the wilderness around Jerusalem was the protection of a shepherd. It was the shepherd’s job to lead the sheep to water, to find places for them to feed, and to overcome whatever dangers that might suddenly arise. Note the personal touch given to this verse: the writer says the Lord is my Shepherd. There is a great sense of relationship and connectedness. When we open our hearts to the Lord, when we put our trust in Him, we discover that He will supply all we could ever need. Are you experiencing areas of lack in your life right now? Trust the Lord. Follow where He leads. Look to Him as your Shepherd.
He will see you safely through!
