“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:13
The Apostle Paul had been falsely imprisoned. Conditions in an ancient Roman prison were less than ideal. And yet, Paul’s sense of inner peace didn’t come from how pleasant his circumstances were, but from his on-going trust in the Lord. Circumstances change. They do not last. Paul wrote that he knew what it was to be in need and that he knew what it was to have plenty. Regardless of what he faced at any moment, though, His confidence was in the Lord’s ability to bring him through. No matter what we face today, no matter the difficulty of our current situation, we can trust the Lord to be our strength. He will help us to accomplish all that is before us. Thanks be to God!
