“Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the good news about the kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is great but the workers are few. So pray to the lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.’” - Matthew 9:35-38
Jesus brought good news to people. He did not just preach “at” them. He saw them! He noticed their pain, confusion, and needs. He did not turn a blind eye. He stopped and paid attention. It stirred compassion on His insides, and this compassion moved him to action. The good news today is that Jesus Sees You. He is paying attention to your heart and needs. It is causing his compassionate nature to be turned towards you. He is right there with help from Heaven offering comfort, grace, and peace. We are made in his image, so his compassion gets stirred in us the same way. It moves us to help people as we stop long enough to notice them through the eyes of Christ. Jesus asked us to pray for laborers in His harvest. Will you pray? And will you answer the call to help others? Ask the Lord to help you see others through His eyes. It will stir His compassion and move you to help.
