The mistreatment that Jesus suffered on this day so long ago was staggering. He was beaten, whipped to the point of death, forced into a crown of thorns, and finally crucified. By every standard, it was a travesty of justice. But Christ did not respond with anger or indignation. He extended mercy. He asked God to forgive those who wronged Him. Such mercy also extends to each and every single one of us. As we put our trust in Him and bow our selves before Him, that mercy changes us from the inside-out and works to make us more and more just like Him. The same forgiveness that saves us,
we can choose to give away. What love! It’s a Good Friday.
