"...give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God" - Luke 20:25
During the week before Jesus went to the cross, He was confronted by people who were asking a trick question about taxes. “Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar?” If He said “Yes,” it would put Him at odds with the crowd. If He said “No,” it would put Him at odds with the authorities. Jesus asked whose picture was on their coin. Of course, it was Caesar’s. His answer didn’t just deal with taxes then, it confronts our hearts too. The big issue is this: whose imprint is on us? We have been made in the image of God. He is our source, and we belong to Him! Let’s honor Him with our lives.
