Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say: "Here am I." - Isaiah 58:9
In Isaiah 58, the prophet cried out for a real heart change among the people. They were good at putting on a religious show, but not so good at truly living a life of care and mercy. So, the Lord called them to change their ways by lovingly sharing with the hungry, clothing the poor, and working to help those in need. He then promised to meet our own needs as we call upon Him. God doesn’t look to bless the perfect, but to strengthen those who know they need Him. Let’s call upon Him today even as we serve others with the same love He gives to us.
