“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” - Isaiah 43:2
God spoke through Isaiah to a rebellious people. The Lord had already declared that a time of judgment was coming to refine them. Yet, the Lord never punishes people simply for punishment’s sake. His ways are always good, and His purpose is always to move us into the best possible outcome. With that intention, He promises to be with us no matter what hardship comes. If He is with us, we can know that He will turn things right in the end!
