“From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” - Ephesians 4:16
Everything healthy is meant to grow. Infants emerge so fragile and tiny, but with the right nutrients, care and guidance, grow into children, then adolescents, and finally adults. As we develop, muscles get stronger, bones come together, and an incredible interconnectedness between the mind and all the rest of the body occurs. Today’s passage likens the people of God to the parts of a body that work together. We all have a need for mutual support, joint growth, and relational strengthening. The key ingredient: Love! As we each do our part to help and to love, we come together like a body made whole, strong and vibrant. How can we support one another today? What part are you meant to play? Let’s grow in courage, compassion, and care as we purpose with the Lord’s help to build one another up!
