Young David started out as a simple shepherd boy. As a late teen, though, he had overcome a giant and the course of his life began to change. God formed him into a valiant leader and he was eventually crowned as the second (and perhaps greatest) king over Israel. What was the secret of his success? The Bible tells us it was because the Lord God Almighty was with him! Where is it that we find our strength and power? Talent and skill make a difference, but they both have their limits. Family and friends can give us strong motivation and encouragement, but even that can only go so far. We need the love, joy, peace, and power that can only come from the One who made us. Let’s offer Him our hearts and our strength, choosing to honor Him with our lives. As we depend on Him from day to day, we will find that His power makes all the difference. ?
