This weekend (May 28) marks the arrival of Pentecost. It first began as a festival to give thanks for the first-fruits of the wheat harvest, and later celebrated God giving the Ten Commandments to Moses. For Christians, it also marks when the Holy Spirit was suddenly poured out, launching the Church.
