“And Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.” - 2 Samuel 9:13
Miphibosheth means “from the mouth of shame.” Rightly so, for in one tragic day, his grandfather, Saul, and father, Jonathan, were both killed. Then his nurse dropped him while fleeing which left him crippled the rest of his life. He was hidden away, and he grieved the life he knew. There came a day, however, when (like Christ) King David called for Miphibosheth to feast daily in his presence without fear. Friend, are you in shame, grief, or physical challenge? The King is calling you by name. Come! Feast daily in His presence! Let’s answer Him who calls.
