True love is unconditional. It is given away because of the inherent understanding that all people are in need of respect and loving care. We honor others not because they are always deserving, but because we desire to be noble and honorable people. Love holds back from no one. With his third letter, John commended a dear friend for providing unconditional love and faithful service even to complete strangers. When we honor others in the same way, we honor the Lord.
