“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2
The Bible is full of all kinds of laws, but there is one law that sums up and surpasses them all: the law of Christ. To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and strength AND to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. Today’s scripture says that we fulfill this law when we choose to come alongside and help carry the burdens of the people around us. We help ease those burdens when we choose kindness, mercy, and generosity. It happens as we take time to listen, to pray, and to help. As we do, we not only make someone’s burden lighter, we also discover that we are being lifted too…by a God who cares!
