“We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” - 2 Corinthians 4:18
My Philosophy professor illustrated the meaning of “real” by using a chair. It was real because we could see it. He then moved the chair into the hallway. He offered that it was no longer real because we could not see it. A friend who was blind interrupted the class. Since things are only real if you can see them, may I be excused? None of you are real! The whole class burst into laughter and we were dismissed early. My friend was also a believer who saw clearly with eyes of faith. Will you join me in looking at what is eternal? That’s where real blessings abound!
