Today is the date on the Christian calendar that celebrates the wonder of God incarnate in the person of Jesus Christ. In the Western Church, the visit of the Wise Men is commemorated as the first revealing of Jesus to non-Jews. In the Eastern Church, the baptism of Jesus, when God audibly announced to everyone that Jesus was His beloved Son, is also honored. The truth for all of us is that Jesus lived among us to rescue us from sin and to show us who God is. As we open our hearts even now to Him, we can discover the One who loves us fully and who offers us true hope, joy, peace, and all we need. Today is a day to experience the goodness of God anew!
