“The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him…” - Nahum 1:7a
Nahum gives us a wonderful promise. He assures us of the fact that the Lord is most certainly good and that all of us can find safety in Him. The one stipulation is that we must trust in Him. When we read the rest of Nahum’s writing, we find that it is full of calamity and woe. How can that be? Because those who were receiving the message were determined to ignore God and live according to their own whims and desires. Apart from the Lord, there is no peace. As we yield ourselves to His rule and His ways over us, we find that we are in position to receive His love and care and weather any storm. Do you need a refuge today? He is there for you!
