As we approach the second anniversary of encountering COVID-19 in our area, we are pleased to report that there has been a significant reduction in the number of COVID cases on campus. Virtually zero new cases, except in the increasingly rare instance when someone brings it back from a stay in the hospital.
For this reason, Friendship Villages has now changed the mask and screening policy that pertains to Independent Living on our campuses.
Masks are now optional for all residents, guests and employees in Independent Living, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are no longer required for those who have not been vaccinated.
In addition, there is no longer a temperature and exposure screening requirement upon entering the Independent Living buildings.
All residents, guests and employees are on the honor system to know if they are symptomatic and to take the appropriate measures to self-restrict and/or quarantine if indicated.
This policy change does not pertain to residents, guests or staff of Assisted Living and Memory Care or Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facilities. These licensed facilities must continue to adhere to State and County guidelines for these types of facilities and policies there have not changed.
We celebrate this welcome change as we strive to get back to some degree of normalcy at the villages.
Please pray with us that our Lord Jesus Christ continues to bless our campuses with this improving situation and the now even more visible smiles all around the villages.
Thank you for your support of Friendship Villages.
