Happy Holidays! We hope everyone had a good Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We hope you are looking forward to a fresh start in 2022, as are we.
With the increased news about the high prevalence of COVID all around, we wanted to provide an update as to where Friendship Villages stand currently (understanding that this is a constantly fluid situation). Please note that we do not have data on which variant of COVID a person might have. All are cared-for in the same manner.
As of this moment at Sunset Hills, of approximately 700 total residents:
- Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation: No residents are currently positive and five employees are positive and quarantined at home.
- Assisted Living and Memory Care: No residents are currently positive and one employee is positive and quarantined at home.
- Independent Living: One resident brought COVID back from visiting family for Christmas but has been under quarantine since their return and we pray for them while we monitor their condition.
As of this moment at Chesterfield, of approximately 500 total residents:
- Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation: One resident is currently positive and in quarantine and two employees are currently positive and quarantined at home, and we pray for each of them.
- Assisted Living and Memory Care: No residents are currently positive and three employees are positive and quarantined at home. Prayers for their rapid recovery, as well.
- Independent Living: Four residents are currently positive and doing well under quarantine while two additional residents are positive and undergoing treatment in the hospital.
FV at Home Private Duty and Supportive Services: One employee is positive and under treatment in the hospital and we pray for their recovery.
Virtually all residents received the full regimen of vaccinations last winter and, since then, more than 1,000 residents, including all levels of care on both campuses, have received COVID vaccination booster shots. Many others sought boosters on their own and would add to this number.
As we all know, COVID appears to be surging across the U.S. during this season and our teams are performing all of the protocols prescribed by public health authorities, and then some. Still, COVID-19 remains a challenge.
In independent living, we continue to strongly encourage the wearing of masks, washing of hands and social distancing, whether vaccinated or not. Higher levels of care exercise more stringent measures.
With all of this, our staff is constantly working hard to create as much of an enjoyable atmosphere as possible and looking forward to safe New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day events. We cannot be paralyzed by fear as long as we can maintain a controlled environment. We pray that we will be out of this soon!
We continue to praise God for the mercies He has shown to Friendship Villages, and we thank all of our friends and family for your prayers and support during all of this time. Help us to pray for a better 2022!
