Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
Greetings from Friendship Village on this cool, overcast Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Residents and staff pray that everyone is having a good, safe and healthy day.
Our staff, everywhere, continues to provide the best in services and care to our Residents in our skilled nursing facilities as well in our assisted living and independent living residences. Our Residents are strongly encouraged to wear masks whenever outside their living units and masks are available for anyone in need. Employees have all of the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for the environment in which they work. Anyone, Resident or staff, are quarantined and tested (if clinically indicated) if any COVID-19 signs or symptoms are present or if they report to have been in a high-threat environment, until either a 14-day period has passed without event or a test result is returned as negative.
Spirits are high! Preventive measures remain in place! Food is fantastic! Activities are plentiful in the security of individual living quarters! Virtual visits with family and friends are available for everyone! Regular and frequent communications flow to everybody!
We understand that contact and communication between Residents and their families is important. As we have offered for a long time, video visits are available for anyone either through their own means or with the assistance of our staff upon request. Due to the nature of our Villages and the many Residents who walk the campuses for exercise, we continue to prohibit visitors to the campus to ensure a complete reduction in the risk of contact between unscreened visitors and Residents. We know this is difficult and we appreciate understanding and cooperation. We will all be together again sometime soon.
Gifts of Appreciation for the Staff:
We have been asked by many families about how they could send a gift or donation in appreciation for the sacrifices and the extraordinary efforts our staff is undertaking to care for their family member. In response, we are setting up a way to contribute either online or through the mail or by telephone if anyone would like to send a gift of appreciation to the staff. As soon as this is ready, we will post it on our website and send a note. We sincerely and warmly welcome your generosity. Rest assured that every penny contributed for the staff will go only to the staff. We can’t thank you enough for these gifts.
Thank you all for your continued prayers as we continually ask our Lord Jesus Christ to enable us to do our best to fend-off the COVID-19 coronavirus and to maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
We need and gladly accept donations of face masks of both the clinical and/or hand-made washable cloth types. We will put them to immediate and good use. Just drop them off at the door!
