Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
God has blessed the St. Louis area with another gorgeous Spring Day, today, Thursday, April 9, 2020 and Friendship Village Residents and staff are reveling in the crisp morning air and bright sunshine.
Our version of the famous “Rosie the Riveters,” our Residents and friends who have broken out their sewing machines and fabric and elastic, are doing heroic things in the production of washable masks. Added to those generously donated by friends and those Residents and staff who have created their own mask masterpieces (though many are not optimal), just about everyone has the ability to “mask-up” while in public spaces and anywhere where others might be, while they still strive to maintain the proper social distancing.
Residents are healthy, happy, well-fed and enjoying the nice weather. While they do miss physically visiting with friends and family, they are staying busy and looking forward to a day when the COVID-19 threat subsides, and the reuniting can begin.
Our fantastic employees are maintaining their resolve and resilience, coming to work every day to clean, serve, entertain, feed, and provide world-class care and service to our Residents and making everyone feel at home, at every one of our levels of care – all while remaining steadfastly vigilant in fending off our unseen coronavirus enemy. We couldn’t have a better family of employees who are mission-driven and are “in it to win it” against COVID-19 both here and in their own homes.
Thank you all for your continued prayers as we continually ask our Lord Jesus Christ to enable us to do our best to fend-off the COVID-19 coronavirus and to maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
We need and gladly accept donations of face masks of both the clinical and/or hand-made washable cloth types. We will put them to immediate and good use. Just drop them off at the door!
