Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
Good Thursday morning from Friendship Village on this, April 16, 2020!
There is a buzz of Spring in the air. Residents are cheerful, taking exercise classes within the confines of their living quarters, waving at their fellow residents from a distance, and from behind their masks, and listening to the occasional piano concerto in the lobbies, courtesy of a few of our retired virtuosos!
Our skilled nursing facilities are stable, staff is geared-up with PPE as appropriate, supplies are present, and residents are being well-cared-for by staff who are nothing short of stalwart heroes.
Last week, both of our skilled nursing facilities were inspected by the State Department of Health and Human Services and received very high marks for all of the preventive measures and protocols that have been put in place. There were no issues found other than, perhaps, some best practices our teams were able to share with them.
Residents in our independent living and assisted living communities are active and, to be honest, looking forward to what might be today’s hallway ice cream truck deliveries.
We hope that anyone who desires is able to visit virtually, by electronic means. We make devices and technology available when a Resident doesn’t have their own. Many Residents are taking great advantage of these capabilities and it is fun to see. They’re making the best of the COVID-19 situation.
Thank you all for your continued prayers as we continually ask our Lord Jesus Christ to enable us to do our best to fend off the COVID-19 coronavirus and to maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
We need and gladly accept donations of face masks of both the clinical and/or hand-made washable cloth types. We will put them to immediate and good use. Just drop them off at the door!
