Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
NO Resident on either the Chesterfield or the Sunset Hills campuses have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 coronavirus as of Sunday morning, April 5, 2020.
This status applies to all Residents at all levels of care.
We urge families of Residents to heed “Stay at Home” orders and completely refrain from coming to the campus. We need your cooperation to prevent exposure to COVID-19.
As noted on Saturday, an employee of Friendship Village Chesterfield Care Center (skilled nursing facility) had been referred for COVID-19 testing on Thursday evening. As all employees are instructed to do, when feeling any of the COVID-19 symptoms, they remain at home until our employee health nurses consult with them to assess their potential condition. In this case, the employee has quarantined at home since then.
The expert staff of the Chesterfield Care Center continues performing all duties in a quarantined environment using all State, local health departments and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) precautions. Residents are well-cared-for by our dedicated and intrepid team of nurses, environmental teams, excellent food service chefs and workers, social workers, chaplains and leaders. Spirits are high and life is pressing on.
Our chaplains and employee health nursing staff stay in contact with our beloved employee who had tested positive for COVID-19.
From all of us at Friendship Village, Residents and staff, we extend our sincere thanks to the community for well-wishes and prayers. Just yesterday, a generous person donated a large bundle of masks for our teams to use and we continue to search for donations of homemade cloth, washable masks for all Residents to wear throughout our Villages. We welcome your help.
As always, please continue to pray as we battle the coronavirus and maintain safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
The Friendship Village Team
