Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
It is another beautiful morning, with maybe a little rain on the way, at Friendship Villages on this Monday, April, 27, 2020.
We are excited to be expecting 2 of our residents who have been in the hospital to return to the Chesterfield campus in the next day or so! While cleared from the hospital, we are going to observe and care for them in our COVID Care Center for a couple of days just to make sure they are clear before we return them to their normal living accommodations, but we are excited for their successful return! On top of that, we are even more excited that one of our Residents, who is 106 years old, and turns 107 on April 29th, will also graduate from our COVID Care Center, on their birthday! We are making progress and slowly getting back to zero and we pray that, by the grace of God, we will be there over the next week or so as soon as our remaining couple of Residents finish their term in the COVID Care Center and become symptom-free. We pray that no more are added to their number. “GET TO ZERO!” is our new mantra.
Our staff at the Sunset Hills skilled nursing facility were treated to lunch by a local business (Soccer Master) on Friday as a generous sign of appreciation for all they continue to do for the Residents there. There is a video of the event out on social media and we invite you to look for it.
Residents in independent living and assisted living at both Chesterfield and Sunset Hills and at the skilled nursing facility in Sunset Hills remain COVID-19-free at the moment and we are praying with all our might that this remains the case. Please pray with us for the health of our residents as well as for the health of our staff, some of whom are still fighting the virus, that all will recover and be protected.
No Visitor Policy Still in Full Effect
As many would expect, all of the security and no-visitor policies remain in full effect at all locations as we continue to combat the coronavirus. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all involved, Residents and families alike.
Although the State of Missouri will begin lifting some stay at home orders in the coming week or so, St. Louis County is not yet scheduled to do so, and neither is Friendship Village. We plan to maintain our vigilance as it is currently until a time when we feel there will be an opportunity to safely begin relaxing some of our measures, but that time is not now. Our No-Visitor Policy remains in effect until further notice. We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation.
Gift-Giving in Appreciation of our Staff is Open on our FriendshipVillageSTL.com website:
Many family members and Residents have inquired as to how to donate a gift of appreciation for the staff for their service during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our website at FriendshipVillageSTL.com now has an easy-to-use tab to use in making contributions for the staff and we thank all of you for considering a gift. As funds are collected, we will identify the best use of those funds in order to do the most that can be done for our employees. Every gift is appreciated, large and small. As always, all of us thank you all for your continued prayers as we continually ask our Lord Jesus Christ to enable us to do our best to fend-off the COVID-19 coronavirus and to maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
