Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
It has been a nice late Summer week at Friendship Villages on this Friday, September 11th, 2020.
As you may be aware, Friendship Village Sunset Hills had its first and only (to date) COVID-19 positive Independent Living resident. The Resident’s quarantine is now complete and the Village is, once again, COVID-free.
There are no other COVID-positive residents anywhere else on our campuses, in Chesterfield or in Sunset Hills, in independent living, assisted living or skilled nursing, and we continue to thank the Good Lord Jesus Christ for this condition.
There is one employee who is positive for COVID-19 and quarantining at home and two others who are also at home due to exposure.
We have resumed visits within the restriction imposed by our local departments of health and those are going well but we also continue to acknowledge that we understand the negative effects of the ongoing isolation of our Residents, particularly in our skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. While we work to adhere to government restrictions, we are also working to find innovative ways to bring families together to lift their spirits and put some spark in their day. If you have a loved one in one of our facilities, please pay attention to the announcements from our team on opportunities you may have. We know you understand that we want this to happen as much as anyone. We know the value of family.
Please pray with us as we continue our fight to protect our residents and staff. It’s a fight worthy of the best we can give.
The Lord is with us.
