Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
We’re approaching the end of a week of beautiful weather at Friendship Villages on this Friday, November 6th, 2020.
Just a few updates on the COVID-19 situation at Friendship Villages today.
On the Sunset Hills campus, there are no new cases of COVID-19 among the residents. The one resident reported previously is still residing in the hospital under care for a few conditions in addition to COVID-19 and we pray that they will return home to us soon. During the week, one resident in the Skilled Nursing Facility tested positive on a routine screening test and, when tested again for confirmation, came back negative. As a precaution, however, we are isolating and treating as if positive just in case. The Assisted Living facility has tested negative all around so far and awaiting final test results (much like a battleground state vote count). So far all are negative and, God willing, will be open for business again next week.
Employees who were quarantined over the past two weeks are beginning to filter back to work and we are eager for their return. At this time, only five employees remain on home quarantine, three of those who were exposed to a known positive and two who are awaiting a test result.
On the Chesterfield campus, the couple who, together, had tested positive are on the road to recovery and should be released from quarantine on Monday, and we are eager to see them out and about again. The third resident we reported previously is still recovering in the hospital and we wish them God’s blessings for a robust recovery so that they can come back home to us. There are no residents in either Assisted Living or in the Skilled Nursing Facility who are positive for COVID-19 and we are thankful for this.
Chesterfield employees who have been under quarantine are beginning to return to work and we are excited to see them again, all healthy and ready to go. There remains one employee who was confirmed positive still at home and two out due to exposure to a known positive, and three out pending a test result.
Our FV at Home Home Health Agency staff has also been experiencing COVID-19, first-hand, in their travels around the region. One of our Home Health employees has tested positive and four more are quarantined awaiting test results. We pray that all come back negative and in good health.
As always, we all pray that there has been no additional spread to others and our team continues to conduct further contact tracing and asking residents to voluntarily self-quarantine when there has been a possibility of exposure when out in the community.
Please pray with us as we continue our fight to protect our residents and staff. It’s a fight worthy of the best we can give.
The Lord is with us.
