Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
Now this is the weather we’re supposed to have at Friendship Villages on this Friday, May 1st, 2020.
Lots of action going on across our campuses today.
Residents and families are beginning to prepare for Mother’s Day festivities. We can’t wait to enjoy the day. Please stay tuned to announcements from your appropriate campus as some modifications may be necessary due to construction barriers.
All of our Residents in Independent Living and Assisted Living on both campuses continue to do well with their COVID-19 prevention protocols. The Skilled Nursing Facility at Sunset Hills continues to fend off the virus and we are so proud of the team for what they are doing.
In our Chesterfield skilled nursing facility and its COVID Care Center, Residents and Staff continue to do heroic work in fighting COVID-19 head-on. We expect a couple of our resilient Residents in the COVID Care Center, who have been successfully fighting the virus since they tested positive, to “graduate” from the center and return back to their normal accommodations on Monday, and we couldn’t be more excited. Still, other Residents remain in the COVID Care Center for a little while longer until they graduate a few days later, when they pass all of the assessments and are symptom-free for a few days. We are looking forward to their graduations, as well. We still have a few Residents in the hospital undergoing observation and treatment and we look forward to them rejoining the Village soon.
We ask that you join us in praying for all of our Residents and Staff who have been affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus – and everyone has been affected in some way. As we know, some of our staff have been affected. The great news is that some of the staff who had tested positive earlier are now clear and are coming back to work, and we will soon have others on the way. In the meantime, our entire Friendship Village family, from administrative staff to housekeepers to other clinical staff, is rolling up their sleeves to keep staffing strong, provide support, and continue to provide the best care and service possible.
No Visitor Policy Still in Full Effect
As many would expect, all of the security and no-visitor policies remain in full effect at all locations as we continue to combat the coronavirus. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of all involved, Residents and families alike.
Although the State of Missouri will begin lifting some stay at home orders in the coming days, St. Louis County is not yet scheduled to do so, and neither is Friendship Village. We plan to maintain our measures and vigilance as we are currently until a time when we feel there will be an opportunity to safely begin relaxing some of our measures, but that time is not now. Our No-Visitor Policy remains in effect until further notice. We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation.
Gift-Giving in Appreciation of our Staff is Open on our FriendshipVillageSTL.com website:
Many family members and Residents have inquired as to how to donate a gift of appreciation for the staff for their service during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our website at FriendshipVillageSTL.com now has an easy-to-use tab to use in making contributions for the staff and we thank all of you for considering a gift. As funds are collected, we will identify the best use of those funds in order to do the most that can be done for our employees. Every gift is appreciated, large and small.
As always, all of us thank you all for your continued prayers as we continually ask our Lord Jesus Christ to enable us to do our best to fend-off the COVID-19 coronavirus and to maintain the safety and protection of our Residents and staff.
