Friendship Village Senior Services’ Update and Response to COVID-19 as of Friday, February 5th, 2021
Our residents in independent living and assisted living are halfway between their first vaccination and their second one! There is high anticipation and excitement to get it done!
Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care residents and employees are now about 10 days beyond their second dose, and all seems to be going well.
We did have a couple of independent living residents who received the first dose and then a couple of days later, contracted the coronavirus from off campus before the vaccine had much of a chance to begin developing an effective immune response.
Reports of current confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the campuses are positive. As of today:
Chesterfield
- Skilled Nursing has 0 COVID+ residents.
- Assisted Living has 0 COVID+ residents.
- Independent Living has 1 resident who tested positive and another who did not test but had symptoms and has almost completed the necessary quarantine. There are four others who are finishing a precautionary quarantine from possible exposure/
Sunset Hills
- Skilled Nursing has 1 COVID+ resident who acquired COVID during a hospital stay and about to come off quarantine.
- Assisted Living has 0 COVID+ residents.
- Independent Living has 0 COVID+ residents and 3 under quarantine as a precaution due to recent hospital stays.
Both Villages remain under a No Visitor policy until both vaccinations are complete and have taken effect.
We are always thankful to our Lord for providing these wonderful opportunities for us and for our partners at Walgreens to help get it accomplished. Please pray with us that 2021 will be a year of relief and joy as we continue to fight this fight. We are looking forward to a better year!
