Dear Friends, Residents and Families of Friendship Village:
At long last! We are expecting some sunshine at Friendship Villages on this cool Friday, October 30th, 2020.
There has been some positive movement on a couple of fronts since last Monday’s update.
On the Sunset Hills campus, there are no residents, at any level of care, who currently have tested actively positive for COVID-19. Our single resident in Assisted Living has successfully graduated from their recovery program and is back to living as before, and we are grateful to our Lord for restoring them to their pre-coronavirus health. As a result, there are no internal quarantines for residents in Assisted Living and small group activities and functions are beginning to start-up again. Assisted Living Dining Room dining is anticipated to begin next week after the results of a final round of testing are received. Independent Living small group activities resume on Saturday, October 31st. The Skilled Nursing Facility continues with no positive residents but, due to County directives, must still remain visitor-free.
Cases among employees at Sunset Hills appear to have stabilized, somewhat, with 17 quarantined at home either as active positives or, pending a test result or, due to exposure to a known positive. We anticipate 5 of these returning to work over the weekend and another 3 returning mid-week next week and we are happy to have them return.
On the Chesterfield campus,
The previously reported one test-confirmed positive resident is doing well and remains under quarantine with their spouse until both are cleared through the recovery period. For Independent Living, small group activities are anticipated to resume on November 3rd and Dining Room dining on November 16th. The Skilled Nursing Facility continues with no positive residents but, due to County directives, must still remain visitor-free.
Cases among employees have also stabilized, somewhat, with 14 quarantined at home either as active positives or, pending a test result or, due to exposure to a known positive. We are eagerly anticipating the return of 2 of these employees today and 4 more by the end of next week.
As always, we all pray that there has been no additional spread to others and our team continues to conduct further contact tracing and asking residents to voluntarily self-quarantine when there has been a possibility of exposure when out in the community.
We believe that God has truly blessed Friendship Villages as we seek our calling to provide the very best in retirement living and senior care and we thank everyone for the continued support you have shown and demonstrated.
Please pray with us as we continue our fight to protect our residents and staff. It’s a fight worthy of the best we can give.
The Lord is with us.
