Question: What do you like about living in Friendship Village Chesterfield?
Answer: “I loved living in Denver and didn’t want to move here, but I did it as a gift to my kids. As it turned out, I realized it was a gift to myself, too. I didn’t realize how isolated I had become. I was active in my church, but that’s different. It makes such a difference sitting down and eating with people, and when I walk in the hallway, I see residents all the time, and what I found out is that I like people! I’m playing cards tonight and because of the convenience, I play different games almost every day of the week. If I were still in Denver, there’s no way I’d get in my car to go drive and play cards. I’ve often wondered though if I would have acclimated as fast if I didn’t have my dog Odie. I was here for five months before I got him, and I knew some people but once I brought him home it all changed. He loves people, which is something I researched in his breed before I got him. He loves people that like dogs and want to pet him, and when he meets those people I just try and calm him down because he’s so excited.”- Ellen Leible, resident Friendship Village Chesterfield

The above photo and text are part of a new project we’re calling We Are Friendship Village. We are posting these in our website’s blog section every day as we talk with residents at Friendship Village Chesterfield and Friendship Village Sunset Hills to give a snapshot of the residents who make up our wonderful senior living communities!
At the end of the year, we will publish A BOOK featuring all the great people who participated. We will also be sharing these photos and text on Facebook and other social media such as Instagram, so look for them there and please follow the hashtag #WeAreFriendshipVillage
We think it’s a wonderful opportunity to share a bit about who we are! Residents’ participation takes about ten minutes, so it won’t take too much to be a part of it and we think everyone will enjoy getting to know their neighbors a little better!
If you see this and are interested in participating, feel free to give us a call at (314) 270-7837 or email at nagysteve@fvstl.com or drop by the marketing suite in Sunset Hills or Chesterfield. We have 365 of these to do over the course of the year, so everyone is welcome!
We look forward to meeting with you as we get to share a bit about the senior living residents who are making our Friendship Village retirement communities so great!
Thanks!
