Throughout our lives, the seasons where we find valued friendships tend to be some of our most treasured moments. From college friends to church communities to vets clubs, these social networks have a common thread – communal spaces and shared events. At Friendship Village, the nature of our welcoming shared spaces and our robust community calendar mean our residents are able to build real friendships with people they naturally connect with. Here, relationships are built on mutual interests and experiences, creating a wonderful sense of community amongst residents on both of our campuses.
Wondering what connection looks like at Friendship Village? Here are some of the types of folks who gather regularly:
There is no shortage of game nights and card matches in our communities. Residents are regularly gathering around tables hoping to strike it big in Monopoly or win the most tricks in Spades. No matter the game, one thing is for sure, there is always plenty of friendly banter, strategic plays, and contagious laughter shared with friends.
We provide ample opportunity to travel to a variety of destinations alongside peers. Our communities regularly offer sight-seeing to interesting places from local day trips to international excursions. Recently a group of residents visited the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Northwest. They enjoyed guided tours, a rafting cruise, and so much more. When they returned to St. Louis, they described it as an unforgettable adventure with friends. (The only travel activities residents don’t get to do is manage all the annoying details and arrangements.)
Living at Friendship Village means access to beautiful outdoor spaces, including a park right in your backyard. These expertly manicured and maintained spaces invites residents to enjoy the outdoors easily. We’re talking pickleball courts, bocce ball courts, gazebos, gardens, and even a lake! It’s the perfect setting for residents to connect in the beautiful outdoors, right on campus.
Crafting sessions are even more fun when it doubles as an opportunity to hang out with friends. The Creative Arts Studio is always stocked with everything our residents need to get creative – yarn, paint, paper, and more. Most importantly, the studio serves as a hub of fellow creatives sharing ideas and enjoying the time to chat and catch up. Our residents also hit the town together to enjoy the arts and seek inspiration with frequent outings to the Art Museum and the Muny!
Friendship Village is more than just a place to live; it’s a close-knit community where neighbors become friends. From checking in on each other to organizing fun groups, our residents nurture a sense of care and belonging that makes Friendship Village a true home.. The friendships at Friendship Village are the heart of our community.
