The Location
Choose a spot where many people can easily gather, with plenty of seating and ample table space for food and refreshments. Consider your venue from an accessibility standpoint, (are walkways clear? Are rugs and cords out of the way?) so all your residents can relax and focus on the fun. Our residents often utilize the Friendship Village courtyard gazebos or spacious common areas that are perfectly and intentionally designed to welcome guests!
The Food
What’s a good party without the food? Our residents typically utilize their personal kitchens to create full spreads, charcuterie boards, or baked goods for their parties. Plus, our communities host a variety of themed parties for residents that include chef-prepared dishes (or ice cream socials in the ice cream parlor!), allowing them to enjoy all the fun of a party without the meal prep!
The Activities
Parties are always more fun when there’s activities and games involved! This summer, many of our residents have been utilizing our park-like outdoor amenities such as shuffleboard, pickleball, and bocce while they host guests and gather with other residents.
Make it a Regular Thing
The best gatherings and happy hours are the ones that happen regularly! Consider getting a group who wants to meet on a weekly or monthly basis! Residents at Friendship Village love having frequent get-togethers to attend always on their schedule.
