Some people have an image of God as an eager courtroom judge. This false idea holds that He is looking to crush us as fast as He can because of our sins and shortcomings. While there is no question that sin carries serious consequence, the reality is that Father God sent Jesus to redeem & rescue us from sin, not condemn us. On our worst day, when it feels as bad as it could ever be (and even if it was our fault entirely), Jesus is ever interceding for us! He loves us with an everlasting love and will bring us though. Trust in Him!
