“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” - Romans 8:1-2
There is a difference between the 7th and 8th chapters in the book of Romans. In chapter 7, the writer is plagued by failure and hardship. He feels like he always does the wrong thing and nothing tends to work out as it should. In chapter 8, he reminds himself that there is always an opportunity for a fresh start and divine help. God doesn’t condemn us when we are down. He gives life and lifts us up. It’s a new day!
