Recently, one of our dear residents shared about father, a WWII veteran. It was late during his life when she finally learned that her dad was involved in many dangerous missions rescuing downed pilots in the open sea during intense conflict. This was something he never talked about. She realized he was a war hero, but he always downplayed his role, saying, “I was just doing my job.” Such humility sets the example for us all! Still, God sees it all. He notices. All those who humble themselves to serve others will be exalted!
